Design A Home You Truly Love
January 27, 2025As an interior designer, I really don’t like designing with what is trending. Why? Trends will come and go. However, there are a few trends for 2025 that I would recommend to my clients because they will stand the test of time. For the month of March, I am going to show you some 2025 trends that I strongly recommend. These are trends that won’t date, that will last, and most of all, allow you to showcase your style.

- Create a Getaway: Let’s face it—life is busy and just keeps getting busier and more demanding. But there is a way to cope: create a space designed for relaxation. Yes, this is becoming a growing trend, especially in 2025. Creating “pockets of sanctuary” impacts one’s physical and mental well-being. It can be as simple as a cozy armchair by a window or as intentional as a dedicated meditation room. These intentional retreats provide the much-needed tranquility we all crave. So whether it’s a cozy reading nook or a calming bedroom, create a space in your home that focuses on comfort, welcomes calm, and invites relaxation.
- Warm Retro Palettes: I am happy to say that color trends in interiors are taking a nostalgic turn and welcoming the return of warm retro colors. Yes, the rich hues of the ’70s and ‘80s are now appearing in spaces. In my opinion, they never should have left—at least not altogether. These colors create warm, welcoming, luxurious spaces. Plus, these vintage-inspired shades can make a space feel timeless and full of personality, especially when used as accents with chairs, pillows, vases, and area rugs. So, bring in these shades—mustards, rich greens, oranges, and warm browns—to create a space that is warm, welcoming, and stylish.
- Accent Your Ceilings: I tell my clients all the time, “Paint those ceilings!” Adding bold creativity to the ceiling with color and patterns really adds a pop and a unique look to any space. So, embrace the ceiling as a ‘fifth wall’ and incorporate elements like hand-painted murals, designed wallpaper, and bold colors. This trend is the result of the growing focus on personalization in design, which is why I love it. If you want a curated and unique space, a ceiling treatment allows for creative self-expression. Yes, it’s a bold choice, but bring in that intricate wallpaper or bold paint color to your ceiling and make a statement.
- Mixed Thoes Metals: Mixing metals creates a hit in any space. Mixed metals across fixtures and fittings in a space creates an elegant and refined look. There are lots of opportunities to mix metals—from light fixtures to cabinet hardware to plumbing accessories—it adds a beautiful touch. So, create a beautiful, harmonious look by combining brass and black metals or mixing bronze with brass and nickel.

5 . Moodier Colors: Oh, I just love those dark, moodier colors. But they are not for the faint of heart. These darker colors are considered elegant and chic, but many feel uncomfortable using them in a space, especially for a whole room. Deep greens, rich navy blues, deep purples, browns, and terracottas bring a richness that adds luxury to a space. So, showcase your style and add these colors to your interior.
6. Statement with Stone: From kitchens to bathrooms, another trend to keep on your radar in 2025 is “stone drenching.” The beauty of natural materials such as travertine, limestone, and marble is undeniably timeless. While stone has always been a staple in bathroom and kitchen designs, 2025 will see statement stoneware used across the home, from sculptural side tables to bold marble fireplaces.
These interior design trends are less about fleeting fads and more about long-lasting appeal. Why do I support these trends? Because these designs allow my clients to reflect their personality while creating a comfortable, stylish sanctuary. So, embrace the warm and moody tones, mix up those metals, and make bold statements with your ceilings and natural stone. Embrace these trends, because these trends are here to stay. These are timeless elements that will allow you to showcase your style for years to come.
