Creating Your Outdoor Oasis
May 28, 2024Designing A Stunning Kitchen
July 26, 2024I was stumped of what to write about for the month of July. “Hmmm…What would be fun and different? Then it hit me; July is a patriotic month in which we display our flag and proudly and wear the colors of red, white, and blue, – why not give ideas on how to style rooms in the colors Red, White and Blue.
Red white and blue are obviously beautiful colors, but are not often used as a color for an entire space. To some it just feels too drastic or overwhelming to design a whole room in just one of these three colors. But, on the contrary it’s not. Now, I’ not going to lie, it does take some guts; Trust your designer. Designing a whole space with any one of these three colors creates one dramatic, bold, and stylish interior. And when you incorporate all three together – trust me your interior will not look like an American flag. These three colors together creates one gorgeous, stylish, classic look for all type of interiors.
So add some sizzle to your space by incorporating these vibrant hues into your decor. Here are some fun ways you can add Red, White, and Blue to your home..
- Designing with Red: Red is a color most commonly associated with heat, passion, love, and joy. It is a color that demands attention. As a result, red is a great color for rooms like bedrooms, bathrooms, powder rooms, especially the kitchen. Red turns any kitchen into a space with high energy, passion, and flavor. Now as a designer, the one place I often suggest using red is the powder room. Using this high energetic color in a powder room really makes the space scream with drama and style.
- Designing with Blue: Blue is a versatile color that when used gives any interior that elegant and calming style. So, it is really easy to make a bold statement transforming any interior into a haven of tranquility. So be creative, design an entire powder room, bedroom, or bathroom in blue and showcases a space of cleanliness and tranquility. Or, create one show stopper kitchen with blue cabinets. Pair it with white accents and natural elements like wood and you have one luxurious calming space.
- Designing with White: White is a color that is repeatedly used in every interior design concept. Why? Simple – because it works. However, many are hesitant to commit to a whole room of white because of the extra maintenance. However, I say embrace the maintenance because an all white interior is a stylish interior. White works well for kitchens, living rooms, and bathrooms. I as a designer especially love designing an all white bedroom. Layering different textures of whites in different tones creates one elegant beautiful warm and welcoming interior space. Such a lovely interior, you can’t wait to get away.
- Designing with all Three: Mixing all three hues together really creates an experience. Red, white and blue are colors that just work so well with each other that when you use them together your interior just oozes with style. For example, you can make the room any shade of blue add in red accents with pops of white and you have one dramatic look. Try mixing together different tones of red or blue and pair it with white. Or introduce other colors into the scheme, such as taupe, beige, gold, brown, black. And watch how the space pops.
So designing in red, white and blue doesn’t mean your home will look like a flag. This is another way you can be creative and make the space your own. Using these colors you really can’t go wrong in creating one lovely stylish interior. So get creative and transform your interior spaces from blah to breathtaking. Be daring, and use all three colors and transform your home into a space that’s warm and inviting. But mostly, undeniably Stylish.
